Bars got stuck

You are looking at 31" Race Face Atlas bars.

The trail: Blood Donor @ The Woodlot.

I have not decided how much I am going to trim of these 31" wide bars, but I thought some of you might find it amusing to see that you can in fact get stuck with uber wide bars.

In this photo my grips are moved in to 30" on the bars and for me it is still too wide. I think I'll be cutting these down some time soon as they are a bit of a liability for the trails I ride.

Yeah that one spot between the trees bout half way down got me the first time with the atlas bars. :lol:
But why would you buy wide bars and chop them down?

If you buy short ones you can't make them longer.

why not buy them wide then cut to suit. Most wide bars have cut lines on them for just that purpose.

My first ride with my wide bars I had the same thing Dean. It's pretty easy now that I have the necessary wiggle figured out.

Since your arm-span is about as wide as you are tall, how could you even reach both grips at the same time?

Same deal with 30'' Chromag bars trying to go through the stump on Crazy Carpenter, that ones a little hard to zig-zag through.

it happens, but the benefits of wide (aka proper-width) bars still outweighs the odd pinky jammed into a tree IMO

^This. You're in the woods, where there are trees. Even with short bars there is a chance you'll smack them into a tree sometime.

I just got some atlas aswell i trimmed mine to 29 tho and going through the stump on carpenter there was literally an inch of clearance on both sides. Maby you should try 29. 31" is definitely to wide for some of the trails at woodlot.

29" is the sweet spot for bars IMO

varies from person to person. I never thought a 780 bar would be comfortable for me but here we are
