Just wondering what size frame all you chap owners recommend. I'm 6ft and fall in the category of the large, but my current bike (same 17.5 inch size as a large Chap) has a 23 inch TT compared to the large Chap's 23.8 inch. Any 6ft people riding the med? I'm thinking the large with a shorter stem is the ticket. Thanks for any info you can provide.
Banshee Chap Size
The Chap has a tight cockpit, I would recommend a large for you. I'm 5'9" and ride a medium.
I'm 5'9" and ride a small, but I sometimes wish I had the medium. The tight cockpit as said above felt a lot better when I went to single crown though. Mine is an '03 frame though, so a little different geometry - I haven't sat on a new one. Probably just need to try it and see what you like.
go with the large. I'm the same height as you and a large felt just right. And if it feels a bit long you can try a shorter stem (unless you already have a 50mm)
I have a large, and I'm 6 feet as well. Perfect fit… The larger size makes it feel sturdier, and allows you to plow it through the trails. Any smaller, and it would feel like you're on a trike.
Awesome bike though, really confident inspiring, and handles beautifully.

Thanks guys. For you 6ft riders, what size stem are you using?
I am 6 feet maybe slightly over and I ride a large. It feels nice and tight yet somehow also feels roomy, I like it! I am running a very short Dh stem, maybe 50mm? Possibly 40mm I honestly don't know, but it feels right. Enough space for comfort during xc races, yet tight enough feeling that I might even try racing it downhill. See if you can take a med. and large out for a spin, maybe even try a small if you are crazy like 0_o…
Seriously, trying them is the only way to know.
22 Pride
I'm 5'6 and I ride a XS. The cockpit is definitely a little cramped for my liking but the sheer AWESOMENESS of the frame and everything about it makes up for it. Just lean a little further back for X-ups. ;)

I have an 06 Chap (with 6" Sherman single crown) in a medium and am 5'11". It is great for technical tight stuff, but a little squirly at high DH speeds. I would highly recomend that you go with the large, unless all you ride is Fromme.

Thanks. I'd be putting a 6 inch slider on it. I do ride Fromme a LOT, but I think the large with a 50mm stem (currently have a 70mm) is the ticket. Thanks guys.
I'm 5'11" and ride a small.
06 Chaparrals have geometry similar to Screams.
They have longer top tubes, longer wheelbase and a slacker head angle compared to pre 06 Chaparrals. Standover clearance is also improved.
Your not 5'11" ya liar… your Korean :fu:
You are correct however in that it'd be better to compare the 06 Chap to scream type sizing rather then older Chap sizing [05[HTML_REMOVED]earlier].
I do private bike camps as well but they are for ladies only and usually involve a sleepover.
I'm about 6'2" and ride a large with short stem… that feels good to me!

i'm 5'10" and ride a medium size 06 Scream, with 50mm stem and its perfect fit
the 06 Scream and 06 Chap pretty much same geo
best to try both sizes if possible?
but Banshees come up pretty small compared to other brands, so even the large may feel perfect for you?

are you plannig on selling your old chap? PM me if you are
That's the problem with cities, they're refuges for the weak, the fish that didn't evolve.
I don't want to google this - sounds like a thing that NSMB will be better at.
Were you talking to me, because I may be selling my medium 06 Chap. I'll let you know on Monday or Tuesday.
