Avid Juicy 7 review?

Anyone have these yet?

I am trying to decide now if I want to sell my purple's and buy the Juicy 7's (203mm) or not. They have been out for a bit and I hope someone has some ride time on them. (HEYPIP maybe?).

If I decide to get the Avid's, anyone want to buy a mint set of Hayes Purples with un-cut hoses? I've got a Marzocchi Z1 Qr20 adapter, Manitou 20mm adapter (assuming the Avid's won't use the same adapter), the Rear IS adapter (again, unless the Avid's use the same one), and 8" rotors. Both work perfectly (now, fixed the rear brake last night) and all that good stuff.

none?

Called Avid. They don't have the EP Price worked out for the Juicy 7's yet, so I am waiting until they have the price. I was assured it would be a great deal though :)

They are Hydro. Been in R[HTML_REMOVED]D for 5 years or so.

Release set for end of summer :) I'll get a set as soon as they give me EP prices :)

I thought I heard Pip was trying a set out or something. At any rate, I will have a set of the 203mm's ASAP. Hopefully they will be as strong as expected. I was thinking about the new Hope Ti 6-pot brakes, but they are heavier than the Juicy's I bet. And the Juicy's look pimp from one of the best brake makers in the world.

Avid's got the hype right now for hydro brakes. I bet IFO will be the first to have them!

If they're as reliable as Avid mechs, and have the power of a hydraulic brake, they should be really good.

is that red dial like the thumb dial on the hope closed system brakes where you can change the modulation by turning it?

I am pretty sure it is the pull adjustment lever. Just like the red top knob on their mechanical levers.

The brakes are going to be sweet I think. The adjustment will allow the brake pull to be the same for both sides (the Hayes is hard to get to and hardly moves where the lever engages).

I wonder what the EP prices will be…

Well, they are 260 or so MSRP for the 203mm Juicy's. I would guess they would cost about 120 or so EP, shipped. So 240 and I can get them, HOPEFULLY! I gotta sell my Hayes Purples though ;)
