Apartment bike storage

Oops, I seems to have created a double post of sorts. Anyway the original question:

Hey apartment folk, how do you store your bike(s)?

I currently am using a Rubbermaid fasttrack to hold up my bikes, which works ok but isn't by any means perfect. I think if I just raise the track up it will be more functional (my original mounting height was based off 26" and didn't account for the longer lower slacker 29ers to come) but curious to see what other solutions people have come up with.

I think if I had two bikes those stackers would be a good way to go, trying to fit three bikes is why I went vertical in the space I have.

This is my current setup:

I have the two up stand from toepeak. Using it for 5 years and it remains like new. It is self standing so won't mark up your wall and keeps the bike from doing damage to the drywall. The bikes are very stable on it. Overall a great product, especially if you want something free standing.

I keep my road bike on the upper rack and my heavier enduro bike on the lower. Just have to be careful placing it because it exerts a fair amount of pressure on the ceiling - it needs to be placed against a ceiling joist otherwise you'll push through plaster and drywall. 

It's definitely great to have your bikes stacked.

I've been using steadyRacks for a couple of years now - really easy to mount and the killer application is being able to swing the bike left to right off the vertical axis

I also use Steadyracks and they are awesome. Being able to move them around while on the rack is a huge benefit. I have three bikes stored in less space than I would have stored two on my old verticle stacking rack. Only problem is they are expensive at like $110+ per bike.

The steadyracks do look really solid. 

You guys that have them, did you stagger them at different heights to keep it compact? Only downside I see there is it ends up being a lot of holes to put in a wall

Could you bolt them all to a nicely painted and finished 2x6, then you just need a few large mounting holes in to studs on the end and very middle?
