Has anyone ordered from tbsbikeparts.com? My buddy is looking at ordering a set of xt brakes from them but neither of us has had any dealings with them. Any experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, looking at their Shimano prices, they're either grey-marketing stuff, or making very little margin. I had previously assumed they were a Kelowna brick [HTML_REMOVED] mortar selling online, but now I'm guessing they're online only…

Technically, if you live in Kelowna, they are an lbs…
And consider Dunbar who also sells online, that's an lbs if you live in Vancouver.
And both may offer product not accessible easily for people who have to travel to their dbs (distant bike store).
More local than CRC at least.
And I see we have new rules defining local produce designations, if we apply this rule, then TBS would be "local" too.
Mind you I just bought my new Blackspire chain ring from my lbs - and it was well worth it!

I do what I can to support my local bike shops. Just ordered a frame through one instead of going online.
Having said that I've had lots of bad experiences trying to get what I want unless it's in the shop when I ask for it.
So I tend to do special orders online and grab what I can from items stocked by my LBS.
95% of my bike related purchases is LBS…4% used market…and exactly one time, online. It was in fact TBS out of K-Town…a higher end product with a typically high price tag…they slayed and delivered.
It still bothers me tho…

It's grey market stuff for sure, but it's usually a pretty freaking good deal. It's not like you're buying stolen goods.
I find it hard to pass up on their tires… Minion DHF 3C for $69 a piece and at my door the next day or two. Not dealing with shipping from a different country is pretty nice.
