Anyone on a Lyrik?

I'm starting to get that primal stir toward an upgrade to my bike. I made the mistake of taking a test rip down expresso on my buddy's new Nomad C…

If I were to get a new frame, I'd need to get a 650b fork, so I'm shopping around.

The Nomad had a Pike on it, and if felt pretty damned awesome. I've not heard much about the Lyrik.

Anyone have any impressions? It it worth the extra .5 of a lb for the extra stiffness?

I've had some spotty luck with my current 36 creaking… I'd love it if the Lyrik were creak free… I'm sure "they've totally fixed that issue now", but a few anecdotal data points toward "no creak" would be nice to hear.

all single crown forks will creak over time. I'd like to see a lightweight 170-180mm DC, but that makes too much sense.

the 6" Manitou Sherman DC with TPC+ was prolly one of the best forks i ever had..

Is that "Suspension Jesus" or a different guy?

I've spent my riding time on 2014+ Pikes (26 and 27.5 and even a bit 29") since November 2013 :)

I've had a creaky CSU on my first production run 26" fork. Got warrantied, no trouble after.

Since last November I own a 170mm 27.5 Lyrik Solo Air and rode it A LOT.

It's absolutely hassle free. I did two small rebuilds to prevent too much wear.

It may be stiffer. It definitely feels better with small bumps, because of the bigger neg chamber.

Not a huge difference, but if you buy new, get the Lyrik. You'll have more travel options and the stanchions have a fatter wall strength, which can only be good.

Only thing a little funky: if you cycle the fork the first few mm there's a little notch near topout. Same feeling on my Debonair Monarch. I've rebuilt both several times and figure that it's perfectly normal.

It's not felt while riding. I think it might be the debonair chambers equalizing or something alike. Just don't worry about it, just ride :)

Own a Lyrik for less 4 months, already started creaking, hassle to deal with warranty. I went back to Fox 36, much easier to deal with.

Own a 2012 Lyrik RC2 DH and I haven't had any problems. It's the least creakiest thing on my bike. I have to believe the new beefier Lyrik will be even better. subnote: I weigh about 170 with all my gear though so if you are over 200 pounds you might experience a different result

They're all the same. A shame they don't use that product mentioned in rnayel's post to help mitigate the problem.

I tried a pike out the other day and liked the feel. much smoother than my 2013 36.

Whatever good deal comes my way first, I guess… I'm not brand loyal. They're all suspect.
