But but threaded bb’s can do no wrong! This just demonstrates that a shit bike is a shit bike. Manufacture a press fit or threaded correctly and there are no problems. Do it badly and there will be issues.

Machinist here, I would have just made or modified a drive side bb cup that threads in deep with a hole through it. Fire a bolt through the hole that then threads into a flat surface plate on the mill and that would hold the bb true with clearance to machine.
