OMG….Scrubbies bike is so sexy…that's what I would want in a Ti HT…sexy…for some reason have not seen the bike on mtbr…kinda surprising…musta missed it…lol.

Gene at www.spicercycles.com made it (via XACD) to my specs. $1700 and three months later, I had a frame, and still gave money/business to a domestic builder.

It's around - still gets over half my ride time. now running it with a Revelation at 140mm and a single front ring. Weighs 27# with a 2.35 DH Nevegal in back, 2.6 Kinetic non-DH up front. Frame is four pounds even, a pound lighter than the Peyto steel frame it is (pretty much) a clone of. With a Gravity Dropper post. rode with a 160mm Lyrik for a while, but the sweet spot is with the 140mm fork. It'll take anything I'm willing to do. HTA is roughly 67.5 with the Revelation - fine for my local east coast stuff.

Room for fatty tires, the chainstays and DT are 0.3mm thicker walls than the rest of the tubes (which are 0.9mm walls). Lap and ring gussets on the headtube, rear disc mount bracing, the seattube has a sleeve that goes down a few inches to reinforce things. And all the tubing is slightly larger diameter than the average XC ti frame tubing. And a chain hanger, 'cause I could.

Only thing I'd do differently now is have ISCG mounts added in order to run a Hammerschmidt.

excellent thread!
for a "long-term dream bike" like you say you want, i'd go custom.
BERG bikes (on the island) seems like a solid local-ish option.

I was watching a friend finish the MOMAR adventure race on the weekend and was checking out Berg's bikes. He had a titanium full-suspension on display that was drool-worthy and it looks like from the web site that he's done lots of hardtails.

Brodie Ti Holeshot. I am going to run a 150mm Marz 44 RC3 Ti fork on it when it arrives. http://www.brodiebikes.com/2011/bikes/holeshot_ti.php

I think it's just you ;)

If nothing better comes along - that's the frame I've been looking for. It's got interchangeable dropouts, iscg, great geo, 31.6 seatpost and tapered fork compatibility. And its not to pricey either. Made by van nicholas.
Would be neat to put an alfine hub and hammerschmidts on it. and maybe a drop post to… Yummy!

I nearly got a custom Seven a few years back. Custom sized and butted to your weight….

My wallet is itching so badly right now and the frame is due in march :high:

Guessing they will be popular so maybe the first batch will be hard to come by.
