Alternatives to 29er Pikes...

Mine is a 27.5 Lyrik. I was really stoked because of the thicker walled stanchions and the promise that it wouldn't creak. I already had two creaky Pike (new style) forks and they were replaced under warranty for this. Anyway - it's a really fantastic fork even with a creak. And SRAM has been good with warranties so far for me.

I also owned creaky Foxes and even creaky Manitous. And 2005 original creaky Pikes :S

It's absolute BS how nobody can make a fork that doesn't creak. This has been an issue for years. Figure it out! I wonder how much CSU warranties are costing manufacturers.

they could but it would be stupid $$ they could forge the stantions, crown and steer tube as a 1 piece unit and machine everything

Doesn't x-fusion have some kind of one-piece crown on a long-travel single-crown fork?

After spending far too much time thinking about it I want for another set of Pikes.

I loved them until they died and didn't fancy the bigger offset and basic damper in the on the Yari.

If the x-fusions had been cheaper I might have been tempted.

In the end I couldn't justify the extra cost of MRP or DVO.
Fox even a "mates rate" price came out at a lot mor than the Pikes.

Lyrik 29r goes to 180mm now sweet

I've read that the A-C measurement might make it the Lyrik 180 29er the longest SC fork since the Travic 203mm SC

ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.

Just received my 29 Auron. The Pike RC its replacing was pretty darn good. But the build on the Auron is fairly impressive looking so far.

After 20+ years in the sport, hard to accept personally that I've ditched Marz and RS forks this past year for X-fusion and Suntour

Creaky CSU's? Just another reason to go with a lefty. Apparently a former RockShox suspension engineer is working with Cannondale improving the damper and their targeting the aftermarket. Benefits of a dual Crown, stiffer, no creaking, 10mm lower axle to Crown measurement than equivalent SC, which could make a big difference for the long travel 29er market

It's about $1600CAD. They have one at Suspensionwerx. Looks nice.

There's nothing better than an Orangina after cheating death with Digger.

ouch. actually a bit cheaper than i expected. i figured it would be over 2k. if i understand correctly, it's got a forged once piece crown and steerer. saw photos of the new Norcos today, Range and Sight 29. the Range will be a very very big bike in 29.

Not only site only has Ranges in alloy and 650b wheel size :speculation:

It needs to be better than both the Wreckong and the Slash 29 or no point.

The Slash is a nice bike. Should've got more demo time on it at CWerx. Pricing on it is laughable. :/
There was a photo online of one running Öhlins TTX-22M and 36 RXF

top secret LBS 2017 catalogue with photos labelled 'confidential'. seriously. i guess Norco isn't ready to deliver so isn't showing them to the public yet.

who decides what is 'better'? what would make them better? different geometry? lighter? more travel? AFAIC the sub 160 travel space is where 29ers shine most and it's the Sight two nine that intrigues me. i continue to be surprised at how little overall press or reviews the Pivot Switchblade has. most compelling wagon wheeler out there IMO and i don't even like Pivot

Because SuperBoost 157. That's why!

 at "Confidential" in a printed LBS catalogue. Specialized and other companies are barely able to keep prototype bike photos off the internet.
