I love my Vittoria Terreno Dry tires, but they only come in 38, and I am looking for a good 45c tire...

Surly Knard 700x41 in the cheap wire bead version. I think they’re $25 USD run great on pavement, gravel and trails. Stiff enough sidewalls I can get away with 30ish psi and still have some cush. Just slightly less grippy then Bruc Gordon Rock n Roads.

Gravel king ss has a great middle tread for roads while maintaining some traction knobs (if you can call those tiny things knobs) so you can lean the bike over on gravel and get some cornering bite. Braking and climbing traction suck but on roads they are very fast. They come in a 38 and 43. A great tire for vancouver gravel where 50% or more of you riding is on roads.

It took me a while to come around on 40mm WTB Ventures but I like them now.

I'm going to put a care package for my poor old Giant Roam together this weekend and will probably grab a pair of Gravelkings, just debating still between SK and SS. I think the SS will probably be sufficient. Maybe I'll grab a pair of SS and one SK to try in front sometime.

Also 38 is probably fine (current tires are 40)?

I've neglected this bike for a long time but the plan is to get it back in shape before our move to Comox so I can start exploring our new area right away.

I'd try SS, SKs are notorious for grabbing little rocks and throwing them everywhere.

Two rides in on the Gravelkings SS and so far so good. Feels like they roll a lot lighter than the old tires. Noticeably less braking traction on gravel descents but still sufficient. Mostly ride pavement anyway.

Thanks everyone for your advice.
