My buddy is 6'8" tall and he can't find a frame to fit him at any of the stores he has been to. He's looking to spend under a grand on bike. Mostly for commuting. Regular straight bars preferred. Anyone got any leads or tips?

specialized crossroads in XXL, I had a friend who was 6'9" and he fitted on 25" road frame with the seat up high. He did crack three framesets though

I have a friend that is 6'8" and commutes on a near stock Brodie Romax. He tried many and found there XL frame, was indeed XL. he puts a lot of miles on it and it seems to be standing the test of time.

I'm not sure if it is still true or not (with the new owners) but Cannondale used to make some huge frames.

Trek has some of their FX series in 22" and 25" varieties, have sold them to numerous people 6'5"+.

That was going to be my suggestion too. Solid bikes and the 25" frame is massive.
