Unless you are going fast or braking for long periods of time, you won't notice much difference.

What type of bike is it going on?

if you ride steep trails it will make all the difference. in fact for long sustained steeps even upgrading to rear 8" rotor is worthwhile.

I am putting the 8" setup on a 05 Norco six1 (with custom 06 rear end= total 34lbs).

The reason for the upgrade is long winded but here goes…I had an all mountain setup before with a Marz AM1 with 6" rotor. Changes were needed- I wanted the 20mm axle stiffness up front and to make the bike more freeride friendly, so I recently bought a 06 Z1fr SL. While in the process of rebuilding a wheel and needing to buy another rotor (due to compatibility issues,) the thought naturally came up; "if 6" is good won't 8" be better??"

Total cost for the upgrade (all done through bikeroom)
Z1 Fr Sl= $499
Quando hub= $39
Adapter= $19
8" shore proof disc= $16
Value of a bike that you enjoy riding= priceless!

Thanks for the feedback; the upgraded bike should be together for the weekend!
