I belive the older 5ths had a hard time with seals on the bullet because of the amount of sideloading the bike puts on the shock. New seals should do the trick as Progressive does tons of stuff with Santa Cruz bikes. Turn around is usually very quick as Trident has some pretty keen whipper snappers repairing.

My 5th blew a bit of oil on my BB7. Fixed by Trident fast (by way of JH -thank you guys) under warranty. All OK now. It is nice to know I can get servicing when I didn't buy my bike through JH. Props to JF!

PS Always have a spare shock around. You never know when you'll need it.

crap…

I have a 03 Bullit as well and I just blew the seal on my 5th.
It's fine if they fix it quick under warranty BUT…
I am a little concerned about what to after the warranty is up. I don't want a shock that blows seals consistently.
The biggest drop I do is only 6 feet.

Should I go with a heavier spring? I weigh about 180 lbs and regularly hit drops in the 4-6' neighbourhood. A little higher if there is a tranny.

We're riding bicycles!!!

For sale: 5th element spring 425 lbs from a 2003 Bullit $40 shipping incl. PM me.

An avy costs $550 us, with shipping and gst it works out to about $870 given today's exchange. And worth every penny, I might add.
