haha, right? I just dropped in to see what was fresh in the hardtail thread and walked out with two pairs of shoes....

I think with the general oversupply of bike parts/accessories early-2023 is going to be a time for stocking up on deals for the next few years of riding!

Playing Devils Advocate (as I own six pairs of Five Ten shoes (!) so am set for the next 3 years, and I don't work for a business that sells Five Ten but....), I'd be pissed if I owned a business selling Five Ten. Not only will their faces get rubbed in the dirt by people going into the store to try shoes on for size and then not buying, they'll also have the issue of Adidas selling current product at significantly less than the dealers paid for the same product through distributor channels. 

I see a future where the only face-to-face retail businesses will be farmers markets where you can purchase 'artisan' carrots.

A pair only lasts half a year?

Yeah I did pick that figure out of the sky a little, but I do pretty well live in them, including trail building, at work etc so they never last all that long. To cut a long story short, I only have two pairs lined up that are new. The rest have seen plenty of use and one pair were used when I got them. I did forget about my Five Ten slippers so maybe I'm good for 4 years ;)

Been looking for a "cheap" way to try out clipless. Bought some hellcat pros for 92 bucks, regular 230.

I rode with actual toe clips for a while in high school over 20years ago, so clipless should be.. interesting. Lol 

As far as retailers go, Jenson has the same deal on, so the 50% off may apply at brick and mortar stores as well?

I bought a pair of Freerider EPS Mid a few weeks ago on the same deal, this week I'm trying the Trailcross LT. I might have a few Microshift bits coming from CRC also 😅 Since I have installed the 8spd Acolyte group on fat bike, I have put one on my commuter too and just love the cheapness/sturdiness of those.

I got a pair of these ^^ on the way. I was intrigued enough at 50% off to try them. Could be ideal combined with long MTB pants for that big chunk of the year that's cool and dry/lightly moist. Should keep debris/dirt out of my shoes.
