This is direct from Eric at FiveTen. They'e received alot of response wanting these shoes back in production from people like me:_**

Would you want to see high top or low top Impacts?

have everyone you know email us, telling us they want to see them back.

It's working.

Basicly, what needs to happen is that everyone interested in getting these shoes back in production needs to e-mail him your preference….the poll is just for our own sakes. He needs you to respond directly to [email protected] .

Copy this text and post it on every conceivable forum you can think it would apply to and we'll see what kind of count he gets.
5.10 Impacts

Intense Low Top

Intense HT

[HTML_REMOVED]- these are
HOT!!!

This is what the two different versions looked like before. I would also let them know style wise what you want them to look like. My first guess is that they still have these designs sitting there and might just re-introduce the same thing. Not sure yet.

Anybody tired of these threads…sorry…I wanted to post a poll as well.

Ask 'em to make big sizes in this model. The Mtn Master goes up to 15 (finally!), so it might not be an unreasonable request.

the current MTB industry is desp. short of Hi-top freeride shoes…

my current weapon of choice are the AXO Descend's but they have been outa production for several seasons, and as of yet i have found nothing that compares…

Sent Eric an e-mail this afternoon making economic/marketing arguments for FiveTen to bring back the Impact/Intense line. Noted that rugged trail riding/freeriding/downhilling is a growing sport (evidenced by # of ski areas across North America now open for mountain biking), that much existing footwear is less than optimal therefore the market for an Impact/Intense-type shoe is relatively untapped compared to other footwear markets (i.e. clipless cycling shoes, hiking, climbing, etc), and that the Impact/Intense shoe already has a significant amount of brand recognition, loyalty and demand within the market.

Eric already responded thanking me for my feedback. Although his response was non-committal, I see the fact that he answered at all is positive.

Don't just post up on NSMB . . . e-mail Eric and tell your friends to do so as well.

P.S. I like the more conservative styling of the low tops but would prefer them in a hi-top, to support my "too often sprained" ankles.

I say go hi-tops just 'cause I love hi-tops. A mid-cut is cool too.
IFO, I think the Axo Descent is still in production as the 661 Dually. They look pretty damn similar, but not having worn either, I can't say.

Edit: Waitasec, my bad. The Descends were SPD right? Oops.

yeah the AXO descend and 661 Dually are actaully ALOT different…

the AXO descend is both SPD and flat pedal freindly… it have a SPD insert but the entire sole has a gummy ribbed rubber so it grips flat pedals REALLY well…

So just to let you know….keep sending him those emails with your wishes to bring them back. And again, post threads on as many other sites as you can and hit up PinkBike, NSMB, Ridemonkey, etc….to post it as a news update on their home pages…not just a forum discussion.:D
