Per the title, I'm hunting for a set of size 14 Freerider XVi's in the lower mainland. I could order over the interweb, but would rather buy (semi) locally.
5.10 Freerider VXi, size 14
Welcome to my life, just order online. Shops will only bring the shoes in on their next order which could be months away. I'm all for supporting your lbs but I'm also all for having shoes.
I was told by MEC that the Canadian distributor would not bring Size 14 into Canada. I order mine online.
You guys are massively massive:eek:
Next question for the large of foot: what's been your best experience with online ordering of footwear? I don't want to have to drive to the States for pickup, and don't want to get bent over for duties/taxes.
Jensen USA ships to the great white north, and they have an option at check-out that tells you the price you will pay in full including taxes and customs fees. It's nice to know exactly what your obligation will be before committing.
Chainreaction also ships to Canada, but you are rolling the dice on what you get dinged at the border. Sometimes nothing, something a lot. That said, even when you dinged, the price still falls in line with what you would pay locally anyway.
I have had good experiences with both.
I ordered a pair of 5.10's from Price Point once and didn't have to pay any duty/taxes. The last pair of Teva's I ordered from Jenson and had another great experience but did have to pay a small amount of duty. Still was much cheaper than anything I would have paid in Canada.
