Hmmm… still sounds like you might have a concussion… take it easy.

A testament to the importance of wearing a good helmet!

Glad you're ok!

i've got one as well (helmet that is). wearing the chin bar on steeper rides. my mates don't care but i'm the odd man out. we're all riding harder and faster ever than before (the 'enduro effect') and i can see it coming (hope i'm wrong) so i decided to get this helmet. it's ironic that this is a popular helmet, yet everyone i see charges large (watch some of the videos) with essentially xc helmets. i don't see these lids on the trail at all.

Both kidneys or just one? I know a rider that landed on the end of his handlebar and he lost a kidney as a result. No operation or anything and it was I think absorbed by the body when the one kidney stopped functioning from the damage. Doc told him that was a fluke accident and told him no reason to stop riding. Hope it works out well for you. Considering such a helmet myself for next time I replace one because i am riding harder and these last three weeks I've crashed four times. Nothing particularly serious but my chin did brush against something in one crash. No marks but the skin burned for about an hour. Weird. But it demonstrates how little control you have when you down unexpectedly.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

This thread is ironic… just took the biggest digger I can remember in years today. Hooked my bar on a big root ball on a highish speed turn… shot me across the trail into a tree and then ejected landing face first into a low stump… major contusions on left arm, thigh, right hand… ribs are really sore and some facial lacerations. Might go get the head checked for a concussion… helmet did its job but I was thinking it would be nice to have a bit of facial protection. Thank you Troy Lee!

mips is supposed to reduce concussions from what i was told . i questioned why there was a $65 difference in price when i was looking at helmets recently .

nice to hear the helmet held up though , i wondered how the 2pc design would hold up .

and yeah definitely chill if you have a concussion , my son took 6mths to recovery from his concussion last year . his was not a riding accident but a 4x4 incident , got sprayed with rocks by the dude in front . took out a door window and hit both him and his buddy with a golf-ball sized rock .
