Can also be bought at Lordco and other automotive places in 3,4 or 6" wide rolls that are used for rock guard.

I just bought some stuff from a moto shop. Looks like it might be heavier than the 3m stuff…

The real 3M polyurethane stuff aren't that easy to find. The ones I found being sold on the stores posted above aren't the tough, pliable-almost-strecthy like the real ones.

Real ones? As opposed to the 3M fake ones? Which stores above are you talking about?

I bought some of the 'good stuff' at the North Van Suzuki/Yamaha shop in the spring. Same product I've bought from that shop and Burnaby Honda for the past 5 years.

I purchased 3 sheets (8x10) at my local yamaha dealer about 5 years ago. I still have 2 full sheets and 1/3 of a sheet.

If you just want spot cable rub protection your LBS may have some small, pre-cut sheets kicking around.

If you are talking about the 3m 2228 tape that's supposedly kick ass for chain stays, I looked at Home Depot and Rona and found squat. Is the stuff at the motorcycle shops the 2228?

Wrong. Always.

there's an auto accessories place on Boundary Rd just S of the BMW dealership, in the stripmall. can't recall the name. but they sell the genuine 3M stuff.

I think it is N-Motion Auto. They may have moved from the location I note above.
