I use easton MTB lock-on grips without gloves, whats different about BMX grips??

They are just rubber, no plastic core. More high frequency absorption.

is going big on a bike the only way to get you stoked on the sport? what happened to riding with your bros, travelling, and riding unique places, to get people stoked on riding?

fines are useless. there needs to be more punches to the throat.

There is a low expanding stuff that is used for door and window gaps, the regular stuff will bend door [HTML_REMOVED] window frames.

Yeah, that's what came to mind.

I'd just buy the bar however. I've been broken too many times from front end parts failing to mess around anymore.

Back to this all over again....

Just bought a Range C7.2 and it came with 35mm TurbineR. Waaaaaaay too stiff. Any news on 35mm carbon bars? Joystick, Cromag and Race Face 35mm bars are lighter than their 31.8 counterparts, so are they getting flex built in? Or crazy stiff?

I stayed 31.8 carbon after having buddies state the carbon 35mm was too stiff.

When I went to 35mm I found the deflection of square edges introduced an inverse amplitude that negated the uncanny feeling I’m talking complete and utter shit.

Yeah, if there’s a difference it’s lost on me.

I ran an older Easton havoc alloy bar in 35 mm and found it uncomfortably stiff. Swapped it for a haven carbon 35mm and love it.

skooks, You bring up a good point.. I went from first gen  BZA to Alu to latest gen BZA, all 35 and noticed the most difference going from 31.5 Chro carbon to first gen 35mm Chro carbon.

I’m gonna go with girth takes a back seat to how its built.  Ian said a few things on why that is when I was replacing them but to be honest I didn’t really care.. I just wanted my wrists to not not hurt and bars are only a hundred bucks.

My wrists never hurt once all last year. They figured it out.

I am eyeing up the Joystick Analog bar and Binary stem combo in 31.8. But no one sells them on the island.... Anyone know a shop in van that has stock?

This is useless because I didn't ride different bars back to back on the same bike/forks, but I didn't notice a different from Chromag Fubars OSX 31.8mm (on two diff bikes) to RF Turbine 35mm aluminum and RF SixC carbon 35. The carbon feels the best, probably because it's attached to a Fox 40 and DH casing tires.

Been running 35mm bar/stem for many years...mostly because I prefer the look (I know I'm vain...lol). I would love to do test runs between both sizes and see if I could actually feel a difference.

Bought Chromag HiFi stem 50mm and Cutlass bar 770mm. What a difference. Bike is really starting to come together. Besides the cockpit changes I also swapped tires, seat, chain guide. Lost just over a pound.

Range

According to Raceface, the Next R bars have some additional flex engineered into them and I'm looking forward to giving them a try.

Last bike I ran SixC, which were a little stiffer than I liked, but I'm not a big dude nor pushing that hard... I never had any numbess or felt out of control due to the bar.
