2bliss Rim Strips

So I walked into my favourite LBS here in Whistler asking for tubeless rim tape.

"Here you go"

"This isn't tape, this is a rim-strip"

"Yes, tubeless rim-strip"

"Surely you jest, why would we still be dealing with fucking tape if this worked"

"Just buy it you dumbass"

So, I did.  It works.  Busted a couple of spokes, took it off, put it back on and it worked again.

Can someone tell me why tape is still being sold?  Why did no one tell me about this?!

There's generally guerilla tape, duct tape, or aluminum tape in the shop. It fit's any wheel size. And I can use it to fix most things. Red Green would have had to have gotten real creative if hardware stores only sold rim strips.

Also I run tubes.

I always start a new bike out tubeless, then when spokes start breaking, switch to tubes.

Until now.  This works fucking great and the sealant works out to at the very least the same cost as tubes.

These strips really work, there's no messy tape-residue.  And the wheels are so much lighter... just think of how much slower and boostier you can do Crab 4.  (Hello Whip-offs 2020??)

Every high end specialized bikes that comes with Roval rims has a set installed and comes with a back up set in the small parts box. I've seen them around for the past 5-6 years at least.

Yup, since May Long I’m on my sixth brake pad, fifth tire, third set of grips, second shock shaft, one cracked rim, but the spokes have been pretty good this year, only five or six I think.  I come in at 230-240.

I love jumping and riding very fast so the bike park fits my bill rather nicely.

Not a lot of info on the Spec website, do these have a pretty good fit on a variety of rims?

I only know of them after Ian asked what width my rims were, put them in my hand and said buy them.

So that said, I'd say it's all about rim width.  I will ask next time I'm by.

Are these similar to the Stans Rim

Strips? Cuz those sucked IMO. Would rather not tape rims but such is life. ¯\(ツ)/¯. Surprised WAO doesn’t have a strip for their rims.

Are the valve stems built into the rim strips?

I tend to avoid S stuff like the overly drunk outgoing chick at a party.

Nope, they just look like plastic rim-strips.

I better not let my tape know it's on e*13 hoops...
