Ran some of the new Fast Trak's on our kootenay road trip. Swapped for a purgatory 2.2 control on the front for seven summits. No flats and no tears.

Thanks for the reminder, I need to get some to try. I was waiting for the high end version to arrive in the US. When I last looked a month or two ago they only had the OEM version.

I just put a Nobby Nic on the back, replacing a Hans Dampf. I will say that I destroyed that tire in 6 months but had a Trailstar compound as I couldn't find a Pacestar at the time. Hope this compound holds up better. Anyway dropped to a 2.25 from 2.35 and so far it feels like it has a similar level of grip but maybe a little better over on the edge.

Schwalbe's have some strengths (bead and sidewall) but don't last long, even firmer pacestar, especially on the rear, especially nic's.

What LBS did you get them from?

I've tried 3 Trek dealers so far and no one has them in stock.

I've bought them from my LBS [HTML_REMOVED] MEC with no problem.

Schwalbe's have some strengths (bead and sidewall) but don't last long, even firmer pacestar, especially on the rear, especially nic's.

Guess I'll just have to live with that then. I have no complaints otherwise and would rather have a leak free tire (running tubeless) than has good sidewall strength.

If you are talking about the NV store, they were cleaned out of 1/2 the things I was looking for today (non-bike).

Looks like the new store doesn't carry enough stock of stuff (just like the old MEC days).

Excellent bead and sidewall. Front wear is minimal, as with all tires. Rear wear was fast on my Nobby Nics. Going to switch for a different tire (can't remember the name fast freddy?) once it goes. Great tubeless compatibility.

For the upcoming winter, I have a pair of 2.4 Mountain Kings Black Chili which will be the bees knees.

Schwalbe, Michelin, Maxxis or Kenda - recommend me a 29er tire set please.

Bike is a hardtail with a Reba, running Stans Flows tubeless. Looking to keep them as light as possible, but not race tires that need to be replaced monthly. I buy and hold until they're bald.

Riding will be mostly North Shore, leaning towards loamy downhill trails, technical climbing and 'across the mountain trails', riding all year round. Pedaling from home on gravel and road path.

Must be Schwalbe, Maxxis, Michelin or Kenda.
