I know just people were all oh noes and lolz syntace when it was first announced a while back.

Anyone know what happens with 10spd and 142mm spacing? Was one the result of the other?

Completely unrelated AFAIK. 142mm spacing just uses a 135mm hub with a little more (3.5mm per side) shoulder on the hub cones so it can sit in the dropouts instead of passing through - like a 135x10/12 thru-bolt will do.

As long as they are not bricks, and are serviceable, I'd say that hubs are pretty unimportant. Give me a decent fork, brakes, baaaa, etc over hubs any day.

Just had a thought. Rocky also has their straight up geo. The steep seat tube means a more forward position on the bike which translates to a front end that will wander less.

Also a seat that is ALWAYS underneath you if you use an adjustable(joplin etc.) seatpost.

Ride a Knolly with such a post and the seat is nowhere near where you left it when you stood up.

NO, NONE, NOT ANY, criticism of the Knolly design(brilliant) just a discussion example.

I'll be honest, this is the first rocky in a long while that has really twigged my "I like it" reaction. Good to see some new energy and bikes from those guys.

The chainstay pivot would indicate "NOT"

The Riegn is a similar concept as well in that it accomplishes
the goals of a Horst system by freeing up the braking via it's
rear axle concentric pivot thingy.

That would be a deal breaker for me, some great parts on the 70 but putting the Talas R on there instead of RLC Fit seems like a big miss on the top end model. Interesting that the Talas is a 2-step this year instead of 3-step, guess they had too many problems. I'd take the 300g weight penalty on a Lyric coil U-turn, anyone know if the frame-only option will be the ano or paint?

The Slayer is a true do everything all mountain bike. Up, across and down. I love mine to bits. Nice job on the new Slayer….Rocky Mountain for the win.
