Just had a thought. Rocky also has their straight up geo. The steep seat tube means a more forward position on the bike which translates to a front end that will wander less.
It very well could be. I'll have to demo one if I can get my hands on one.

The raw bikes are protos that were welded in Vancouver.
Had a go at one while at Sea Otter… again sorry Pete for being 10 minutes late to return the bike.

Found some pricing info in this article.
The Slayer will be available in three models [HTML_REMOVED]#8211; 30, 50 and 70 [HTML_REMOVED]#8211; all of which will share the same frame. The 30 and 70 will feature painted finishes, while the flagship 70 will be black anodised. Component specifications will match each bike's price point and purpose. Pricing is targeted at US$2,899, $3,699 and $4,599, respectively. Limited availability is scheduled for August.
They don't lay out the components for each model though. At least, not that I've found yet.

Not so… The concept behind SmoothLink is that the average chain torque line (ACTL) is more parallel to the lower link than other designs. In other words, averaging all gear combos, the chain is more parallel to the lower link, not just in one gear combo.

good looking bike. My only minor gripe would be straightening the seattube for more SP extension, just for the peeps not using dropper posts. It just seems like a such a minor tweak
Light and slack with 4bar suspension and lots of travel? I'm in. Plus, even if its pivot placement is just marketing speak, its a great way to get past the big S patent.
I think Spec has less than 2 years left on the horst patent. It'll be interesting to see how many manu's jump on it for for 2012, and whether Spec will switch to something else

be a tough sell to people who'd bought the marketing speak and recently bought bikes from companies that switched, a real punch in the nuts. clear up the debate and make this board less interesting, too
