I'll give you $500 for it. This will seem like a good offer in 2 months.

$800 and its yours.

Rock Shox recommended using a 5wt oil for the damper unit, quite a bit if I recall correctly. Using a lighter oil (Motorex 2,5wt for instance) and putting it in the damper unit will result in drastic changes and possibly improvements.

The dampener is fine, and the stanchion slides nice and plush. It shipped extremely low in oil, but has been fine since a top up with 5 weight.

The problem is in the coil(left) side, specifically the bath oil. It rather quickly gets pushed up into the stanchion and stays there. Basically, the lower dries up. So bushings without oil = unhappy bushings = unhappy rider dude.

You can get Slick Honey from Jenson USA. I found some at Obsession, but I think it was the last jar.

My team sucks right out of the box.

No oil in lowers.

Stanchion are different shades(not really a big deal….But…)Streaking on stanchions

Unable to bottom out on medium spring so have to run soft spring for a 180lbs rider.

Unable to turn knobs out of the box. Had to disassemble several times.

I have even had to burp my fork!!!

All Boxxers are in a so called "quarantine" because of damper issues. Rockshock has not put out all of the official parts to fix the forks yet. From what I have heard it will be another week or so.

Rock shock has dropped the ball on this one. Vary disappointed.

About the same for my team, but 190 ml of oil in the damper (should be 245).

on the plus side, enough grease on the spring to last ten years.

In order to be old and wise, one must first be young and dumb.

I thought that 2010 Boxxxxers were the best thing ever, even better than free weed and p0rn, three months ago? So what happened? Did people actually buy the fork and ride it rather than looking at pictures on the internet?

according to "industry" sources, SRAM have actually frozen production on the 2010 Boxxer until the problems are solved :(

If you got Tetris-Boxxers with your name on it you wouldn't care how it performed! ;)

On topic though, I'm stoked on how well my WC performs. Needs some oil and such atm though, feels a bit dry.
Should be said that I haven't checked the levels, so I suppose it's the classic not-enough-oil-in-the-lowers case.

My Team feels great now that I've pulled it apart (oil was low, grease was fine). Time will tell I guess.

Here's another interesting observation. After pulling the spring out, stand over the bike and move the fork up and down through it's entire stroke - you get no more than 7 inches?? I dunno, shouldn't it be 8(200mm)?

No, it was actually a little low. And there is clearly a clunk at the top and bottom. It's definitely 7" of travel.

lol. RS have successfully remade the totem in dual drown form. At least they were smart enough to stop any oil leaks, even if they just didn't put any in there. :)

Any solution to the 7" problem other than to replace it with a 2008 Team?
