I have an 08 2 step lyric that I have had lots of issues with.Mostly an annoying rattle and the 2 step not working.Has anyone had a 2 step work well? I am thinking of replacing it as this will be my 5th major service,I love the fork when it is working properly
2 step air

I personally would just ditch the 2-Step and make it solo air. If this is your fifth service, time to cut your losses and get something new, or switch it to solo air.
A 5 year old fork being serviced once a year doesn't seem unreasonable.
they usually stop working properly after about 2 weeks..
Is there a Vancouver in Taiwan?! I had no idea!!
Nothing sums up my life's achievements like my stuffed corpse, suplexing a cougar.
Yes last time was almost a year of goodness.I am looking at a Marz 55
The dual position air is supposed to be more reliable, so far my 2012 Lyrik has been flawless.
But yeah a service a year isn't too bad and after 5 years it might be time to think about a new fork any how.

Depends on what is meant by 'major' service. I would say changing seals, wipers and oil would be a yearly service for sure. If the 2-step system is failing on a yearly basis, I would call that too frequent.
I did not count the two times it was warrantied, The 2 step has been replaced 6 times. The last time it went back to sram and it lasted over a year.I have spent close to $700,Has anyone had one of these forks work for a extended period of time

Yeah…..that is what I would classify as unacceptable. The 2-Steps were a known problem, and most converted them to solo air to rectify the problem. Either have it converted or move on in my opinion.
Like I told you Kim, my 2 step went 3 years…it just failed this winter. I'll be swapping it to a uturn coil, when I get around to it.
Convert to Solo Air if you don't need the adjustment. U-turn also works but its more as an overall travel setting since its not as convenient to wind it up and down for climbing and descending.
I am sending it to Fluid function Shawn can convert it to a dual position

What is the estimated cost of that conversion if you dont mind me asking?
$208
Its cheaper than a new fork. The lyric is an awesome fork when working properly
