Anyone have one of these? Thoughts? Likes/dislikes (other than cost)?

Best rack you can buy.  Had mine for 10 years.  I replaced one of the wear parts once.  Cost me $40 I think.  All aluminum, no rust.

Ya same. Stays on the vehicle year round, only have to lube the rubber gaskets after a winter of road salt.

My friend Sam has one and he lives in Edmonton. Uses it to transport his fat bike all winter no problems

Another yes vote for the 1Up.  Love mine, have been using it for 2 years now.  Easiest rack to use and fits any bike I have put on it.

One of the best features to me is that I can unbolt one of the trays and just use a single.  Very low profile when it is folded up as well.

I have two on my roof and love em.

Not great with fenders, but any rack that holds by the wheels struggles and I’ve made it work solidly.

Kinda slow to swap to smaller wheels (24” BMX for example) but again, most wheel grabbing racks have this problem.

Love it’s all metal construction, love that it can be turned into a hitch rack, like how low profile they are.

Hate the price so I just snag what I can when they come up for sale used. I wouldn’t buy a used Thule or Yakima attachment, but these things age very well.

Agreed, great buy used. The fact that they are completely rebuildable is a huge selling point for me.

No plastic is great as well. Here in AZ, the plastic gets cooked in the sun and eventually will shatter on you. No issues with the 1Up.

Thanks for the input.  Last question: how badly did you get hosed by customs, having this shipped from the USA?

It's actually built in the USA so you shouldn't have to pay duty... But you have to organize that before it's shipped apparently. I picked mine up in the states, stuck it on the car and drove back after being there for a few days so the customs guy just sent me on my way after I declared it.

They block the license plate. Why haven't you all been ticketed? I got a cheapo like

and was threatened w/a ticket and it wasn't even folded up?

They don't.  And you can now get a license plate attachment for them if you're worried.

Turns out I've had mine since 2009.  Free shipping lol.  Never pulled over once.

Mine doesn't block my license plate folded up.  I guess it could with a bike on it, but it hasn't been an issue.  I do know a couple people who have been pulled over with Thule T2 racks for that reason.

Depends on the vehicle obviously.

My plates on both cars are completely visible, that's why I bought the 1 up. NS racks obscure pretty much every cars plate. Only has to be partially covered to be an infraction.
