Those are cool but there’s no on the hoods position which is where I would spend most of my time if I had drops.
I think you are supposed to hook your thumbs over the stubbies at the front for pseudo hoods.

Ah yeah that would make sense. As I have injured my wrist and thumb I can’t ride my chromag as the fubar with only 8 degrees sweep hurts my wrist. Might experiment with bars with more sweep. Would be funny to try a corner bar.
Anyone have any good leads for where to buy a GRX groupo. I need the whole thing with cranks and everything. My LBS says I'll get it by 2024 through them.....
I'm on the stock alert list for Merlin
I'm not picky, 600, 800, I don't care what level it is.
When I got mine I had to buy it piecemeal. Crested some unexpected hassles, but eventually found parts in different places.
It’s also possibly running low on stock as it’s due a 12s overhaul.
Anyone want to offer their 2cents before I pull the trigger on this custom geo 90s mtb? I was thinking of going 70deg hta but I think it may handle better on most stuff with the 71....
I know very little about this subject , but...
Does that reach say 403? Are you by any chance long torsoed?
I would think more like 385 or so, no?
With a 71 head angle I can't abide a stem under 110. Even 100 feels noticeably less settled to me, so wondering what stem length you'd end up with if reach is 403.
74, 71 is what I'd go personally, but that's just because I like the handling on my touring road bike.
hmmm,
My current bike is 397 and I find it just a tad short. I'm running a 90mm stem though. I am looking at the BMC geo and going just a bit more traditional. They use a 90mm on their 58 and 60 sizes.
I'm 6'2" if it makes a difference.

Ah, I see. I was thrown off by the 55cm size, figured you were shorter.
Like a BMC URS gravel. https://www.bmc-switzerland.com/intl_en/bmc-urs-01-two-23.html Is that what you're on? Simple tweaks then eh? Rake and trail I assume the same as BMC...
Man, I'd still think you'd need a 70° with a shorter stem like that though.
I think if I was building something I'd be tempted to go full early 80's MTB madness with like 68° head angle and some crazy rake like 2" lol.
Anyway just trying to keep the dialogue going for you, hopefully you get some advice from someone with a clue.
Is that a realistic saddle height for you?

I got a similar saddle height to bar height on my gravel ride (Ragley Trig) and I love it, no idea about the numbers though.

No. With my saddle up and 30mm of spacers the drop to the bars is about 6cm.
dunno but that’s a touring rig to me. a gravel bike should be light and fast and has a sporty seating position
Not sure if the rest of the world would agree with your definition of a gravel bike. I'm not sure what disqualifies this bike in your eyes. Steel to heavy? Too many mounting options?
The geometry is 1/2 way between a cervelo and a bmc, not exactly touring specific I wouldn't say.
