Even more motivation to rehab my broken wrist.

^Most likely.

I ordered a Wolftooth Components 42t ring the other night. Plan is for them to be shipped out next week so I'll see when I get it.
Also gives me time to run my current 1x10 system with either 32t or 34t chainrings and see what range of gears I want to run before spending the big bucks to go 1x11
I crunched some numbers a few months back, but lost the sheet of paper I did it on, plus numbers don't mean shit, its all about the feel man

Why slag free swag?

ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.

Quoted for truth… numbers can be deceiving. And here's my second Oneup installation completed:

Nice. Plan is to place an order for plastic wheels in the not so distant future as well. Just not sure how many pairs I need?

Thinking about this option as well. What would be best as a rear derailleur long or medium cage. I'd be using a Shimano clutch as I hear it's the best derailleur for this set up. Thanks for any useful input! BTW it will be on a hardtail so no chain growth to worry about.

Man, I sent a email half an hour ago to Wolf Tooth and they answered me already! Medium cage it is. Got to love those small companies.

I'd likely crunch the numbers to see if buying everything new + the $100 cog is worth it compared to an 11 speed backend

The silly SRAM 11 speed cassette pushes the advantage to 10 speed. You also have more choices going this route.

So I have just purchased xt triple crankset and xt 11-36 cassette. When the wolftooth 42 tooth cog is ready for sale again I'll get one of those and the 30-tooth narrow wide chainring too.

It's all coming together.

Wrong. Always.
