Boys, cool down or take it to NBR. I'm not going to the gear forum to ask for political advice.

about that fork

Does the 888 evo have the same system as the 66 RC3ti? That has an air preload assist as well.

Have you ever achieved anything onther than "pogo stick" with the air preload? I tried it on the Flatline last summer and found that even with almost no pressure, it "pogo sticked" the fork all to hell (66 RCV)

There wasn't enough rebound damping to compensate?

Wouldn't changing the oil weight, assuming its still an oil bath, work just fine? Blend a medium (7?) and heavy weight (12?) and voila?

Ahh - that may have been my problem…added air but didn't adjust rebound. Regardless, I found that with added air it really added too much initial "stiffness" to the top of the stroke. Also - I only really added air to see what it would do…don't think I really needed it…

My 888 evo Ti does not have an AIR preload that ive been able to see on it so i would say the 888 evo probley does not have one since there just about the same forks. If the springs are any thing like the 08 09 steel springs then there more then heavy enough, the Ti springs in my evo Ti are lighter then the steel version (so says marzo canada) and at 160 there still to heavy and I cant even come close to using all the travel, only getting about 6inchs right now. so yes just set the preload and the volume adjust and you will be more then fine

Ok, so i have a brand new 888 sitting at home that will be getting tossed onto my demo when i get home in a couple weeks, question is who is running the factory springs in em? im 205 pounds, so needless to say i have a feeling that the factory spring rate isnt going to cut it. anyone know if they offer replacement springs for them yet?

How's the beer?:beer::beer:

Don't know if the nerd thread will help.

Awesome, good to know. Ill slap the bike together and see how it goes. Can always toss some heavier oil in if I have to.

Enduramil, no beer yet. Still out at the patrol base, I roll in to KAF very shortly, then there for about a week before im off to Cyprus. The end is near.
Cheers.

Or do you mean to say there will be riding all the time, just not of the same variety each time?
