Been away from here for a while , but there's nowhere quiet like this to get help with Norco's.
Been on an 05 team DH frame for a while now and have a few niggles, mainly bb height. I know the 05 was designed for 05 888 with the high crown's but I'm running 06 888 with flat crowns.I guess sticking on some older crowns would give me an extra 1/2 inch , but its rising the front end by an inch.

What forks are anyone else using with this frame?
Also is Norco's own 150x12 hub (came with the frame in europe)heavier than a decent after market one?

I'm using an 05 888, and previously a Shiver. I like the height of the 888, more for geometry than bb height. I don't find the bb height a problem.

I've got an 05 Shore. I have a stock 05 888 on the front now, and had a Boxxer on for a month or so in the summer.

I don't know much about measurements, but I can def tell the difference in bb height. With the boxxer, I would hit my cranks and bash guard a lot more than I did with the 888.

I think there is a shock setting you can use to give you more bb height? The top shock mount can be changed, and effects your bb height. Try that maybe?

Changing the shock setting steepens up the fork to much for my liking ,prolly need to try out high crowns

The formula hub that you must have is definitely a fair bit heavier than the Hadley that it comes with here. The Hadley is just a fantastic all around hub in so many other ways.

When I recently went from flat to regular crowns on the 2005 888, I noticed the same thing. Mine are on an M3. I love the higher BB but hate the new handling. I am sure with more practice moving weight more forward during turns, this can be improved. Can't have everything.

Looking at Buying an 05 Team DH , found a good deal on a new one. I was actually looking for a Santa Cruz VP free, but found this DH, the part spec is awesome. Just wondering what you guys that are riding the 05 norco team dh think, would you buy it again? No way I can get the SC with same parts for even close to the same money.

There is a good reason why I'm hanging on to it!

While my Shore is a different bike than the DH, I'd buy it again.

Buy the 05 DH!

Totally agree with Corey, ridden mine since summer of 05 and only needed the tires and grips. Bike is amazing…

What are the EL Camino brakes like compared to Mags? Was hoping for Juicy 7's, how do they compare?

I just got them (off a 05 Norco team dh haha)

Hmm.. they have abit more power than the mags. Slightly less of that "on/off" feel of hayes, but it's still there. The no-tool reach adjuster is great but it's not that special because once you find a spot you need, you probably won't have to touch it again.
The pros over the mag's would be that it is lighter, has more mechanical advantage=theoretically more power @ the caliper. Cons would be that the reduced size of the master cylinder can't dissipate heat as well as the larger one in the Mag/nine. I still haven't noticed any 'fading' or loss of power during descents though. As for caliper, I think it is a superior design over the Mag b/c of the rotating banjo ring.

oh hai!

I just picked it up today, only had time to play in the park near my house, one decent jump to play on. So far I love it, seems to pedal remarkaby well for nine inches, and the brakes feel great. For the price I paid you can't beat the parts on this thing, and I'll get used to telling people I ride a Norco.
