The difference between the large and reg is only the drop crown, you need a large for the Bighit. The steer tube demands the drop crown on the Specialized. I'm running a 03 Slider (large) on my 02 Bighit. Smooth and feels more like 7".

I have a slider and a big hit and you definatly need a drop crown to fit the big hit. you cannot drop the lower crown or it will bottom out on the reverse arch.
Im running my big hit in the 5.5 setting these days and it rocks.

i think that is what large, is, get large, it has the drop crown. for large headtubes.

Actually the slider is on my hardtail but I measured it and it wont fit the big hit. the fork is a small and my big hit is a medium. I run a White bros DH2 on the big hit, it rocks.
I would guess that a large is the drop and the small is not a drop crown. other than that im sure its the same fork. The slider just fits my planet X and its just under a 5 " headtube.
