They basically ride like regular mountain bikes, tech trails are just fine.

full fats on steep alpine tracks with euro switchbacks are no fun, you want a SL for that

Just buy a new bike!

The new Norco is close to 65 lbs so more like SUPER HEAVY....   the light e-bikes don't have enough range and battery technology really needs to improve.  Solid State battery tech will be the game changer.

The demo 2024 Trance X Adv E+ pedalled me from Giant HQ to sweep the Seymour Fiver Corkscrew/Neds/HS, back to HQ and then turbo mode up to Capilano U to get my Canadian Tuxedo and almost back to HQ before forcing me to put effort into pedalling with a dead battery.

It rode downhill better than my own Trance-X Adv due to its increased weight and braking power.  The E+ had me clearing the.Corkscrew jumps under the powerline, which I rarely even attempt.

It felt no heavier than my Gen 1 Knolly Delirium-T, which I hated climbing.

I am 100% sold as a rider and trail builder.  Only my accountant and maintenance department manager disagree.

I did that in 2003, 2007, 2012 & 2015 through 20, although I could ride a switchback. None of them powered.

I witnessed an interesting sight the other day. A couple people on ebikes heading into the Corkscrew to retrieve their shuttle vehicle.

Well keep trying, I’m sure there’s something out there ungainly enough to ruin your switchback skillz.

Yeah, I suspect his homebuild from pre-pandemic times is greatly oversized to todays solar technology.

Should anyone see him struggling up Hwy 1 Hope to Cache Creek tomorrow, don't be afraid to offer a hand.  I really hope I convinced him to not try the Coq.
