Not yet but my buddy got rid of the tubes on his road bike and is very happy with it. would you be using tubeless rims and tires or going ghetto style?

Ghetto tubeless at 80psi plus. What could go wrong?

I was thinking about trying it. 3 flats since I started riding in, is 3 flats too many.

When I get my road bike back on the road I was going to do some experiential learning!

i thought maybe commuter tubeless was a thing and i just hadn't been paying attention. a bit of research seems to suggest its not common/standard, but people are doing it

i have a bunch of selant and tape kicking around and going to be building some new wheels with new conti rubber soon, so i figure i'll give it a shot

There are a few peeps on bikeforums who are doing it. They only have positive things to say.

Some sarcastic responses above, but to be clear, if you want tubeless tires on a road bike you MUST USE ROAD TUBELESS tires. Every one that tried to use non tubeless tires at road pressures has blow the tire off the rim. You must have the non stretching tight fitting carbon fiber bead. Must.

Don't want to hear of anyone going ghetto and having an accident as a result.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

It says on Stans solution that one can use it with tubes too. Are there tubes with removable valve-stems so you can put stans in the tube-probably a dumb question but I've never even considered it? If I was getting tons of flats on my commuter I think I'd go with that approach over tubeless rims and tires.

Wrong. Always.

I'm running 700x32 Clement X'Plor tires on Stan's Grail rims with no issues on my commuter/cross bike, but that's at 45psi (mix of gravel + paved).

If you want to run road widths/pressures my experiences have been the same as Oldfart Andy's: Get the real deal.
