Ain't got one. I'm a one bike gal and my commute is epic. I have however mapped out a combo transit/bike route that I'm going to do in the summer. Might use my xc hardtail with skinny slicks maybe. I recall you can get Mavic 700c wheelset that will fit on a 26er mtb too but I'd probably be fine with some really 1.5 semislicks or something.

Ooh, that sounds good! My current commute is 11k each way and the dangerous/good thing about it is that my office is only about 1.5 blocks from the Canada Line in Vancouver so it's easy to hop on if the rain gets torrential.
Otherwise, I commuted with 26"x1.125" slicks on an old Rocky Mountain Blizzard for about 3 years and it worked great, durability [HTML_REMOVED] speed at the same time! It's definitely possible to fit 700c wheels/tires on 26" frames but obviously you need to check frame and front derailleur clearance, as well as toe-overlap and you would need disc-brake mounts on your frame (if you want brakes :) )

2009 Giant Seek 2, got it new in Sept 2010. Have been doing 60+k, 5 days a week on this bike and it is solid. Solid enough to bunny hop over a curb or catch a little air here and there. Best 800 dollars I ever spent!

I know Mighty Riders has sold these frames/bikes in the past. They're dialed for fitting people to a bike like this as well, which I'm sure you can guess is pretty important.
Not to be biased or anything (well, maybe just a little) but the company I work for makes a pretty sweet version as well and we're based here in Vancouver! :) We have a bunch of dealers in the Lower Mainland, including Mighty Riders for convenience of comparing the two models/brands.
