What does everyone wear? I've wearing quick dry pants but they kind of suck. I'd like something that keeps me some what dry.
Now that it is raining. PANTS!
I've got a pretty short commute and it's all downhill into work, but I just pull on some inexpensive MEC rain pants over my regular clothes. Keeps me dry, but not something I'd want to pull on if commuting many km's with plenty of pedalling.
I could recommend the pants I got from MEC but they don't make em anymore in fact they only carry 2 I would try them on and get whichever fits the best
i won't say i'm looking forward to pulling on the specialized deflect rain pants i reviewed last year, but the prospects makes the approach of the shit-weather-season a bit less daunting
also bought a pair of levi commuter jeans when they were being blown out last spring (yay for planning ahead), hoping they'll do the trick on justkindsorta rainy days

One-piece triathlon lycra shorts/tank top - with rain booties! (I was thinking about this because it was so warm on this AM's bike commute in the rain). You might get stares from passers-by, except in the West End, of course.
Castelli Sorpasso Bibknicker - Only time I started to feel cold was when the rain turned to snow.
I wear cycling tights. As long as I'm warm I'm okay. Fenders and a good rain jacket are more important.
I wear mtb baggy shorts with a DWR overtop of a thermal knicker.
Can't stand rain pants… too hot and clammy and I find the resistance on the knees unbearably annoying.
Agree that rain jacket is the critical piece… and keeping hands warm on really cold/wet days. I have a pair of old Axiom/Norco overgloves that were designed to slip over standard full fingers that still do the job. Never found a replacement. In Vancouver, my hands only get cold if they get wet as temps are never low enough to need thermal gloves. Just keep the water and wind off. Same with my feet. No winter booties needed if your feet are dry.
