I am thinking about ebike commuting (port moody to east side of Maple Ridge) about 25km each way. Is anyone commuting reasonably long distances via ebike target would be to get it done in 45-50mins. Does this sound reasonable?

I don't commute on an e-bike but have done commutes distance like that in the past on a road bike in the time you've stated so I would guess doing it on a e-bike should be no problem. I'd suggest possibly considering an e-fatbike simply for comfort and stability if you're riding year round. The bonus you could take it down to the beach or for snow rides if you're so inclined.
Perfect, I was trying to figure out the improvement over just a road bike, I used to commute nearly this far but was typically exhausted on a Friday however with my e fat bike I can slay the shore too
yeah, i'd guess that doing that much distance every day would wear on you by the end of the week. if you went at a lower pace in probably wouldn't be so bad, but then you're probably adding 15-20 each way. the ebike will allow you to meet your time goals without being overly fatigued.
It depends on if you get just pedal assist or full-throttle. You're looking for an e-bike that'll go 30-35km/h ? I don't think a fat-tired bike is gonna get this done.

That is what I was thinking 30-35km/h would be ideal should result in a 55-60 minute trip.

I have an ebike (fatbike) and it's limited to around 35 km/h. You can do 50km on one battery charge if you pedal hard but would probably want to charge your battery at work for insurance.
the Stromer Electric Bike has a claimed range of 20-45 miles (25km each way or 31 miles) is well covered. it's a lot easier commuting with an ebike than a regular bike
