Is Jedi Mind Tricks fully open yet? Heading up this weekend, stoked to sample it. Any other changes/improvements from last year?

Yes except for one short section the trail crew was just finishing last week. I don't get all the hoopla about jedi. Pipe dream is way more fun IMO and I am far from a superstar. But still another great bit of work from the SS trail crew. Love that mountain.

Is it my ineptitude, or do they not rent DH bikes at Silver Star?
If not, would an Enduro be sufficient?

You can ride and enjoy 95% of Silverstar on a 4 inch slopeslye bike. A 6 inch enduro bike will be absolutely fine.

Silverstar over the long weekend was fun, especially once I learned how to ride their style of berm. Any idea when the new section of walk the line will be open? I walked down off the pavement trail and checked it out, looks large and fun.

Rode Silver Star Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Such a great mountain and deserves an annual visit, especially now that the kids are old enough to pin laps.

The clear family favourites were Double Dog, Pipe Dream, and World Cup. LTG took "most improved". Jedi was uninspiring to us (too much work for the rewards). PS Walk the Line is committed, but not foolish. I still like Downtown.

Lower Rock Star wasn't open, which was a bit of a bummer.

A lot of work has gone into rebuilding lips and helping jumps pop better than they have in a while. Pipe Dream was running noticeable better.

1 item to watch out for is just before one of the final run outs (right after going under the concrete bridge). The final blind left hander has a line right into a drainage channel with some spikes sticking out of it. It's also slick as f**k and slight off camber into said drainage ditch of doom. I don't think it ate anyone on opening day but it seriously needs some work.

A bit of an aside, but I wanted to get some advice on a weekend trip. We are heading up this weekend and camping near Vernon. The plan is to ride Silver Star park Saturday afternoon, and trail ride Saturday morning and all day on Sunday.

What are some trail rides in the area that aren't to be missed? We were thinking of checking out Kal Park and/or Noble Canyon, I think. Saturday we'd like to ride near Vernon, but for Sunday, stuff near Kelowna or Kamloops is also an option.
