Island 22 bike park

Even though it's a huge (and costly) hassle, I was considering bringing my jump bike along with me this summer (family in Chilliwack and Roberts Creek).
I contacted Chilliwack Parks in early July and inquired if the jumps were being maintained.
No reply. :dead: Assuming the worst, I decided not to bring it (drove by a really nice jump park in Hope though)

I went for a long walk today to check out Island 22 and, to my surprise, a company out of Whistler has been brought in to bring it back from the dead. One of the crew said it was in really bad shape with nobody maintaining it. It's looking good and they should have it finished by Friday. The park needs some local support.

Is there a pump track or anything for small kids or is it just jumps?

It's a typical family friendly Hoots designed park with progressive woodwork and a small well groomed pump track.
edit: they had a mini excavator working on something (maybe a bigger pump track) ?

Is it open now or under construction ?

It's closed right now with sections taped off.
The park is multi use (horse riding, boat launch etc) so they charge 5 bucks entry if you're driving.
Noticed a number of cheapskates turning back when they found out they had to fork out a bit of cash.

Ok I will check it out when it's done. I went for a walk around in there winter before last (2013-2014) but don't really remember anything about it. I didn't have to pay…maybe that's a new (or summer) thing.
