I think we've been hoping the park would get a second life, once the Olympics leave town. Anyone know anything?
Anyone have insider info about Cypress Bike Park?
i do
i do.
it wont happen this year. it will take them a long time to clean up all the olympic crap.
i forwarded the other thread to someone i know at cypress so they are aware of the interest :)
they could use the hay bales left over to protect us from the tree crashes…

Cypress is going to be very busy with post-Olympic remediation this year. It's going to be a l-o-o-n-g process.
Your best bet is to hope they do alright financially out of 2010 and rally support for 2011.
im sure it will come back for 2011. i'll make sure to continue to remind the people i know there :P
don't hold your breath. Doesn't sound good for bike park anytime soon.

I heard Whislter strong armed them into shutting it down for good in exchange for Olympic events there…

if that's true that's some serious bad mojo
Hopefully it's just a rumour.
if that happened it would mark the official entry of corporate cutthroat douchiness to the bike park scene
oooo evil whistler. nobody should ever go there. Especially during ski season.

no worries i dont..
from closing day of the bike park to opening day the next season, Whistler ceases to exist for me
its like this magical land that only is around for a short period of time.. the rest of the year i have no idea what happens to it.
