Remember when that drive was one lane in each direction, the whole way?

I love that drive. Particularly in ski season. It's the anticipation. The first view of the ski runs brings back memories of the first time I went to Whistler. The excitement of being at the big hill for the first time is always a pleasant memory. All the mountains on the way there, it all builds excitement.

About a kilometer before function junction when you catch a glimpse of the lifts my bottom puckers.

there are a lot of sweet scenic drives in the world but we are lucky to have one of the best in our backyard.

my pops drove that highway 3 times a week for 25 years when we lived up there and he commuted to the city for work. skiing does that to people.

Yeah exactly. And if you're driving at night you see cats way way up grooming. The scale you get from that is just so huge.

Great little piece of writing by Seb.
The highway has changed, the destination has changed, but the feeling you get as you come into Whistler city limits is the same as it's been for 21 years.
