Jeff Bertoia wasn't exactly roughing it but he managed to get some nice riding in this summer, using Tyax Lodge as a base.

Have a look here - after midnight PST...

aaah the memories… such a sweet operation. I was there with a few buddies in 2006 and its amazing, a first class operation. I'd also like to point out that the lodge also operates a little campground in the shadow of the lodge. It's a pretty sweet spot overlooking the lake, but you also have access to the Lodge's facilities. And much cheaper than the lodge which is on the pricey side. On the topic of the lodge, I would dispute their claim to being the largest log cabin in the world. Have a look here: http://www.fairmont.com/montebello/
But that doesn't detract from the fact that Dale runs a first class operation, the trails are unbelievable, and the setting is fantastic. Highly recommended.

Rad place to ride in the summer and as cool for winter sports. The lodge never shuts it just changes it up with the seasons. I am still reminissing about catching this little guy a month ago…my first fish since grade 5.

Have been there four times and have done most of the major epic rides, including one 3 day adventure to Big Creek Provincial Park, Lorna Lake, Spruce Lake and back to Tyoughton lake. Dale flew support with camping gear. Also did the Warner Lake fly in twice. great riding!

Nice story, I really hope to get up there one year.

Hi all

Been priviliged enough to ride Gun Creek via Tyax Air, definitely my most memorable mtb experience. Also fond memories of Rich Juryn, who organised the trip for me during the '06 World MTB conference at Whistler…

The trip has inspired many great trails on my side of the world.
