You have captured mountain bike riding in so many iterations and so many locations that inspire… but when you are out with only your point and shoot what does your perfect day of riding look like?

What draws your lens to mountain biking versus other sports?

You've been responsible for many of the iconic MTB shots that have been taken for quite awhile. What allows each shot to show something new? What changes or general characteristics of the sport have kept your job interesting?

Sterling - what responsibility do you feel you have to ensure that you are shooting a trail or a feature that is 'legal' and does not jeopardize the work of Advocacy groups?

1)When you made the switch from film to digital what was the hardest part of digital to get use to? or was it hard at all to switch over?
2) Do you still shoot film now and again?
Thanks

Sterling…

since u have been in this industry for so long and have have snapped so many great riders in so many disciplines and in so many outstanding locations..

what are your thoughts on the changes from the old days of snapping pics in the forest to say something more wide open like todays slopestyle comps..

and more importantly do u miss the old days, which must have been far simpler then todays demands…

Do you have any sort of moral obligation to only submit photos of riders wearing helmets for publication / use in ad campaigns?

What is your favorite place to ride?

Do you ever want to branch out to other areas of photography? If so, is it because biking photography is such a poorly paid domain area or is for artistic/personal challenge reasons? Or perhaps a combination of both?

What is your take on using Photoshop to achieve the look you want? Do you use it to make certain things of your photos pop? Or you not use it all?

I remember another interview I think by NSMB where you were asked if you were digital or film. That was many years ago I believe, are you still a firm believer of film or have you changed over to digital yet?

You get to follow some of the best riders around the world in some very exclusive locations, has riding ever gotten in the way of shooting? Or do you always have photos at the end of the day?

What was the best photo opportunity that you missed?

Do you still think about it?
