Are you a fan of the Purgatory tire? How about a redesign. Add some carbon hoops to the package and keep it under control with shoes and helmets…

New stuff here...

big fan of the Purgatory, used it several seasons in 26" on my all-mtn bikes and now in 29" on my Stumpjumper 29er

looking forward to the new tire, the old Purg is excellent in bad conditions and aggressive cornering but somewhat "draggy" at times, but not as bad as the old Eskar in that respect ;)

regarding carbon fibre 29" Roval wheels?

my buddy certainly got some on his 2012 S-Works Stumpy 29er hardtail, not sure if quite as wide as the aluminium-alloy Roval Traversee rims on my 2012 Stumpjumper 29er, but certainly not narrow rims either…

Any word on when the new 29er Purgatory will be available in Canada?

The old Purgatory is out of stock in the Cdn warehouse.

Those Rime shoes look pretty hot. Might make a nice compromise between roadie race boots and the heavier sneaker style shoes (i.e. the awesome Shimano AM45s).

I've been riding the Rimes for about 5 months, slightly narrow fit for my spades and I had to space the cleats to allow them to work easily with PD-647 spds. Grippy to walk in, nice and stiff to pedal. Boa system is decent and generally I'm very happy. All my buddies take the piss for me turning up in my slippers though?

I saw a pair of S-Works 29er 2.2 Purgatory tires at Evolution in Whistler last weekend. I may snag those this weekend if they are still there.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

^^this

will not use S-works (120tpi) on the rear of my bikes (ripped too many out), but kinda getting away with it on the front for some time though…

..only because my buddy gave me his brand new S-Works Purgatory 29 x 2.2 and it would have been rude not to accept the gift!

the minimally heavier Control version (60tpi = more rubber on the carcass) is where its at for Specialized tires in a tubeless conversion ;)

Alex - they're great shoes so far. I'm wearing a size 48, which fits like a 49 Shimano. They're light, stiff and have great traction on the sole. No wet rides so far, but good in the summer for sure.

For what? Skipping the 4 kings and going for other 'epic' rides?

FWIW i slashed my Control casing tire in the No Flow Zone.
