Seb had a nightmare day one with a couple of hard crashes so his 12th (and 1st in amateur) is even more impressive.

Geoff has always been a very technically strong XC rider.. Started in DH…probably on a HT! Even on the road…(years back) I saw him hop over a rider that went down on a bridge at the Sooke-Port Renfrew road race, at full clip He's got skillz:D

I think he will be more into this Enduro thing after his XC career?

Newsflash fast xc guys are just plain flat out fast.

Years of pinning it on those pinner xc bikes has got to build skills.

Indeed. People see riders in lycra and think that they can't ride because they aren't wearing diaper shorts. When you see the top guys riding a world cup that has decent trails, like the Grouse ones from years ago, you can't help but be impressed by their skills.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

I've seen some videos of Marco Fontana (cant remember where) that guy can ride a bike.

I was referring to kabush specifically. I'm aware that world cup xc racers can rip, but they wouldn't all be competitive at an event like this.
It's cool that both fit downhillers and skilled xc guys can both do well at these races. Makes it feel like a proper mountain bike event.

Yep. He and especially Nino Schurter would totally destroy everyone with a months training on a 160mm bike.

Schurter is particularly bad ass. There are some (usually Euros) who came over to XC from the road side with a smaller tech toolbox but it always surprised me how impressive they were. Enduro races are giving the XC guys a chance to show off their skills as their world cup careers wind down and they don't have to be as concerned about a season-ending injury.
