Joe Schwartz, Stephen Matthews, and Paul Stevens recently headed to Cumberland for a weekend, sampling the local goods both on and off trail. We've lined up some great deals with the 2013 BroCard up in Cumberland, so check out the trip report and new opportunities…

Head to Cumberland with the boys...

Yep, Cumby is a killer spot. Ride epic singletrack all day. Drink beer and eat burgers at the Waverly. Pass out in yer comfy bed at the Riding Fool. Wake up next day and repeat! Also did a one day guided ride with Martin from Island Mountain Rides. Great guy and sweet singletrack. Cumby / Hornby is a mustdo.

Your inside Waverley shot is actually inside the Riding Fool.

I went to Cumberland this past spring for the DH race, and have been figuring on how to swing an early retirement over there ever since. We've been back a couple of times, and it just keeps getting better. Now, if the house prices stay reasonable until we can get there….
Its just my opinion, but I think the riding on the Island in general has the Lower Mainland beat.

Growing up on the island and having since lived in whistler and Sechelt… Could never pick one out of the 3

Thanks for the correction. Made some guesses as Joe was on a plane this morning.

Quiet you!

Where was the third hard-as-nails old fella? They all deserve a huge kudos for all of their efforts!

Wait till the Rats are finished their master plan. Lots of other building going on in the DH realm too (ahem).

Day One of the BCBR was there this year, and it rocked. We had a fantastic parade and community turn-out, and the first gravity enduro section was one of the best in the whole race. Thanks Cumby!

Awesome rides in Cumberland, Forbidden Plateau, and over on Hornby! That town is set up too perfectly for bikes!
