Hi Cam,

this is only 10km from Carasco

you can go near the top with a car,on the top with your bike on a trail or you can carry your bike on a trail like Grouse Grind.
There is nothing build,a lot of people aren't open mind in Italy, you can only go where you want from the top to the sea.
If you go back to Liguria go also on Monte di Portofino.

Hi Sethimus,

it's 100km far from Cinque Terre, isn't national park and you can ride here.
Monte Portofino (not in photo) is national park, like Cinque Terre, but in some day you can go on its trail with your bike

One euro here who's not offended :)It's all about where you get to and who you get there with as to what you find. One of the great things about Europe is the mix of all kinds of people riding all kinds of bikes on all kinds of trail. Have to admit to not knowing enough about America and Canada to know if it's the same or not! You get to a resort with a bike park, and just like a Canadian resort, there are tons of easy to find trails. If you're away from resorts you need either a good source of local knowledge, or plenty of time and good map reading skills.

One other issue - worth remembering when you come over - is on the continent, not UK - if you mention singletrack a lot of people will immediately assume you want singletrack road - always worth clarifying by showing them how wide you mean. Find a local bike shop anywhere and they will go to great effort, despite language problems, to make sure you get a good ride.
