Still nothing on their web-site…
Race Face shuts its doors
only 711mm and easton… =/
my bad, I meant Havoc carbon. Still Easton but I figure their carbon engineering is solid
Still nothing on their web-site…
probably because no one works there anymore.
Still no blow outs on CRC…
IF that's true, it's too much considering the company seems to have bitten the dust. If that person was any good, RF would still be around. That's one argument anyway.
That's based on the misguided assumption that people are paid according to their value, and that business leaders effectively self regulate their own pay based on performance.

hmmmmmm
Race Face officials met with creditors and its receiver today. Officials at Grant Thornton said they intend to dispose of Race Face as a single entity and may rehire back some essential employees to assist in the sale of the company.

This, as others have already stated, is an unfortunate day in the Canadian Cycling industry.
I remember my first 'real' mountain bike. I bought a frame/fork combo - a Pro-Flex 959 back in 1996 I think it was and spent a fortune (at the time) outfitting the entire bike with Race Face, Syncros and Shimano components. That bike didn't have a part on it from another manufacturer other than these three. I still have that bike and I swear those components are all still working as-new the day I bought it.
You would think that the right person at the 'bank' would realize that this brand does still have a very highly thought of reputation in the industry and could potentially be viable if sold to the right parent company - thereby saving these people's jobs and the brand itself? But they are bankers after all, and their bottom line is getting paid I guess.
speaking of canadian brand, There's BlackSpire too. not to jinx it but surprised to see them around.. considering you see less and less of their guides on oem spec of the bikes. If BlackSpire can buy RF that'd be awesome but I know it won't happen!

true. I was gonna say that $30k/month is totally out of line for a CEO of a company the size of RaceFace… but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
The end of Race Face is the end of and era a great one. I still have my next LP carbon on one of my older bike and still love it. It's really sad to see a company like Race Face go out of business.
Farewell Race Face
I have never lusted after a part as much as I did the original Diabolus cranks. Sad to see Race Face consigned to the history books.
I'm broken - not just cracked around the
edges.
i hope that the principle engineers and designers may find funding and support to spawn a new company. back to simple roots of west coast riding and progression. rebranding or trying to kickstart raceface now may be a lost cause. it might not be a good thing either, chances are work will all go offshore and have to developed for a bigger catch-all market. but the company that we all lament now was in essence made by people, their ideas and a riding community that supported them.
