Here's a link to an online store that has the current and 2010 Giants with U.S. retail pricing and specs etc. http://ajsbikesandboards.com/.

Never mind, looks like the 2010's got taken down.

I prefer the current X0, the 2010 looks too much like a XC bike. Mine is 32lb and its beefy for riding whis park.

I hear ya. The current Reign X frames have nicer lines I think. However, I find that the low BB height can cause a few issues on slower technical trails because the suspension cage bit gets hooked up occasionally. The new Reign X design looks like it does away with that problem.

If it handles like the current Reign X I think the 2010 bike, at 30lbs and with slightly better clearance, will be a killer bike. And it comes as a frameset!

The next generation…very nice!
Sexy _and _functional. Everyone's worried about 'underweight' bikes not able to handle today's thrashings. Hydroforming tech, butting, extrusion, etc. is at its height and these bikes are a perfect example of what manufacturers are now able to do. When you get off a 45lb DH bike and start flinging around a 37lb DH you immediately feel it-sub 40 DH bikes are an amazing ride. Basket shocks were overweight (xtra reinforcement) and what about that frail plastic cover? Plus they won't be using Marzy anymore by the looks of it. Smart move. That was the only reason I didn't buy a Glory this yr-marzy f [HTML_REMOVED] b.

Yeah it may be strong enough to cope with riding forces but that doesn't stop it denting to shit.

FYI, the derailleur is a new version of the X9. It's quite a bit lighter than the previous X9 generations (sub-200g for the medium and short cage version!) and should be available soon!

For a shore xc bike the Reign X looks awesome. It's too bad it's such a big leap from the X1/$3600 to the X0/$5600 as I'm almost sure to want something in between. Easy enough to upgrade tho.

Just a note on the weight of the Reign X - the 30.2lbs was for a medium with single ply tires WITHOUT pedals. Change the tires and add pedals and you'll be up around your 33 / 34lb. comfort level. Craw is right - this will be a great Shore XC bike (a new marketing category, perhaps???). Add the right tires, and you'll be laughing if you like a light, flickable bike in Whistler.

The Maxle rear axle makes a big difference in stiffness, too. And the angles on the Reign X haven't changed. If you liked the '09 version based on ride, then you'll like the '10.

I'll be posting ride impressions in the article, so stay tuned for that.

Anyone see the detailed write ups on the Faith or the Reign X as promised in the article?
Thought it said they would be available in a week. That was at the end of July.

The Faith article will be up later this week. Plan was to have them up right away, and then Crankworx got in the way of things. Just a little more patience…
