I am really going to miss the Olympics - but I like the direction they've pointed us in.

Here's my take on how the games have changed us all...

Wavin Flag is the official anthem of Coca-Cola's 2010 FIFA World Cup, so that probably clashes with the IOC.

Is there a Vancouver in Taiwan?! I had no idea!!

some big sport events can change something. before 2006 (soccer world championship) it was not totally accepted in germany to wave our national flag THAT much (because of our past). now saying you're are proud of your country doesn't let you shine in a nationalistic light. also the 500000 people parties in the city were nice too. i never get it why some people are against these events.

Nice article Cam. I wish the olympic lanes and their enforcement would stay - for the last 2 weeks getting around vancouver has never been easier …

Glad to see that there was so much peaceful partying. hopefully everyone takes note and we can have more large events and shed the No Fun label for Vancouver

I did not know that.

Even if it wasn't Wavin' Flag, K'naan would have been better than Nickelback, K-os, and Alanis. Although at least K-os played live apparently - and Neil must have as well.

I must be the only one that thinks Neil Young's voice sounds like dragging your fingernails across a blackboard.

It's probably a form of treason to admit this, but I was really wanting Canada to win Gold in Men's Hockey too! I also have to admit to being a fan of Canada (especially BC) for some time, largely due to mtn biking and the many great people I've met in BC because of it. But, seeing Canada host the Olympics and take Gold in both Men's and Women's Hockey, the quintessential Canadian sport.., well, it's one of those "there is something right in the world" moments! Congratulations Canada! Well played!

And, don't worry about anyone thinking you're arrogant! Wave that flag, sing your songs and party like there's no tomorrow, be proud! You are Canadian!

I say we need a new statutory holiday for Feb 28th, World/Olympic Hockey Supremacy day! We really need a stat between Christmas and Easter.
