We hooked up with Wade for a ride last week to check out one of the "Recommended Rides" in the Locals' Guide to North Shore Rides. Out on the trails he showed us their new iPhone app…
Maps, Apps, and Naps - All on the Shore!
Love those apps!
There's nothing better than an Orangina after cheating death with Digger.
love the maps…can't wait for the apps!
If there is one thing I have learned this week, it is "don't lead the man train"!
Nice article and the book has been "super useful" to this newcomer. Oh yeah, spring rocks, can't wait to see summer.
Cheers Ben
Tell Ryan to get to work producing Android versions!
He promised me these where in the pipeline months ago!! :-)
Biggles the Legend.
Now I know more why you were almost 2 hours late for our ride on Fromme that morning/afternoon. You were achieving Local Legend status. :)
Speaking of Giveaway winners… what ever happened to Wades Wisdom "what pisses you off" RaceFace giveaway?? Who won?

+1 on an android version
OK, I might have a reason to buy an iPhone now.
Presumably the app will still show you where you are even if you're not on a "marked" trail. Just saying, you know, for those times when you lose track of how to get back to a proper trail.

That's next up… haven't you had enough of Wade lately? ;)

Yes, or if you're completely off track from the loop you're trying to ride…

These apps are great especially for having offline maps. But for those on Android you can checkout the mobile version of Trailforks, which works well on Android http://m.trailforks.com/ You can see your location on the map and nearby trails. I get phone-data on most of the north shore, but Google Maps also caches a lot of map tiles even when you don't have data.
Congrats on the new upcoming app though, I will promote it on Trailforks when its out like I've done for the other apps.
The Iphone App is now available at the Itunes Store!
